St. Lucy Parish Volunteer Posting Process:

Do you have an upcoming activity or event and are in need of parishioner/community support? Submit your request by email to stlucyvolunteer@gmail.com with the details below or complete the online form to process your request.

All email requests must include the following six questions for a request to be posted.

1.      Name & Date of Volunteer Opportunity
2.      What is the task/responsibility that a volunteer is needed for?
3.      How many workers are needed?
4.      Where will the work be done?
5.      When will the work need to be done or meeting(s) be held?
6.      Who do I contact to volunteer? (Please include: a phone number, email address or web link.)
Please note: All paper and online postings must be submitted to the Volunteer Coordinator for posting.  Any positions posted without following this process may be delayed or removed. All requests are subject to editing and/or corrections.

Current Volunteer Opportunities at our Parish:

*Eucharistic Ministry Starting July 23rd St. Lucy is beginning our recruitment process for new Eucharistic Ministers to fill positions at our English masses Saturday 5:15p Vigil and all Sunday masses.  A candidate must have already received the sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation to become a Eucharistic Minister. If you feel a call to this ministry
and would like to consider serving in our parish, please contact: Rita Gray / Liturgy Planning, at 408-605-4083 soon as possible. Eucharist Ministry Training is scheduled for September 17th in the church.


*Volunteers needed for Teen Programs “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give” YOU can be the difference in the life of a teen. If you’re interested, curious, our would just like more info as to how you can help with our youth ministry programs please contact our Youth Minister, Patty Osorio, for a one-on-one chat or you can come to our “Volunteer Info Night,” Friday, August 5th at 6:30PM in the PAC. Bring a friend or loved one and volunteer together!


*Liturgical Environment We need 3-5 volunteers to prepare the church environment for each new Liturgical Season • Advent • Christmas • Lent • Easter • Ordinary Time The Liturgical Environment team meets as needed about 1 month before the next Liturgical Season. 2-5 hours of work is completed in the church usually on the day before the beginning of each Liturgical Season. *Mass Coordinator A Mass Coordinator is needed at the 7:00 AM – English Mass. Mass Coordinators are responsible for the following before and after Mass:

• Set up the Eucharistic table
• Confirm that we have sufficient Eucharistic Ministers and find more if needed
Normally there are two Mass Coordinators assigned for each Mass. Mass Coordinators will communicate with all of the Worship ministries. They are expected to be familiar with the Liturgy and should be trained Eucharistic Ministers. It is helpful if they are trained Commentators, Lectors, and Usher.

Stewardship is a way of life, a life of accountability and responsibility acknowledging God as Creator and Giver of all.  Stewardship involves responsible management of our God-given resources of time, talent, and treasure. Stewards as disciples of Jesus Christ see themselves as caretakers of all God’s gifts.

Our ministry meets monthly on the 2nd Monday at 7:00 PM in the Parish Office.
