Youth Ministry

Youth gather each Sunday night during the year after the 6 PM Mass in the Lally Center. The purpose of Youth Ministry is to give teens a safe, comfortable environment to talk about issues, have fun together, and share their faith. They relate Bible messages and Catholic teachings to everyday life issues. A major goal is to encourage teens to be involved in ministries, parish life and social justice. Young Adults

The Young Adult Group is for people in their 20s and 30s, single or married. The group meets weekly on Thursday nights at 7:30 PM in the Lally Center. They gather to share faith, to have fun, and to look for ways to serve the needs of others. Activities would include question and answer periods with a presenter on a specified topic, social and service events, and participation in the Young Adult Summer Softball league.

Christian Singles Fellowship

A spiritually-based group of single men and women ages 40s and 50s throughout the Bay Area who focus on their relationship with Jesus Christ and each other through sharing food, music and fellowship. Meets in the Parish Activity Center on the third Friday of the month from 6:45 PM to 9 PM. The meeting starts with a simple dinner ($15), usually a guest speaker and discussion, followed by dessert and socialization. For information, events, and messages (408) 535-0368 or

The Classics

A social group for adults (singles and couples) who are over 45 years old. People gather on the 4th Friday of the month in the Parish Activity Center to meet new friends, share some refreshments and play board games, cards or bingo. They also take trips together to Bay Area events.

Women of St. Lucy

A gathering of women of all ages, single or married, to develop friendships and to participate with other women in various activities of interest. There is normally a monthly general meeting on the last Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Activity Center. The meeting consists of socializing, at times a guest speaker or other presentation, as well as time to talk about topics or activities of interest.

Adult Couples

St. Basil's Catholic Couples Club is a group that gathers monthly to socialize and enjoy the company of other adult Catholic couples in the parish. The group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month in the Annex. The gatherings typically consist of a social hour, dinner, a short business meeting, and entertainment. The dinner is put on by a committee of 4 couples. Couples are expected to serve on the Dinner committee twice per year. The group also helps the parish outreach program and convalescent homes through donations

Filipinos and Friends

This group sponsors a monthly pot-luck luncheon after the 11 AM Mass for all who want to come. During these gatherings people enjoy good company, delicious food, and an opportunity to share in the Filipino culture.

Knights of Columbus

A service organization of Catholic men formed to help the Catholic Church at multiple levels - parish, diocese, state and national. The Council of which St. Lucy Parish is a part also includes members from St. Christopher, St. Frances Cabrini, St. Mary (Los Gatos) and Transfiguration Parishes. Special events include a Thanksgiving Turkey drive and the Annual Catholic School Scholarship Award. The Council meets the first Wednesday of the month at the Knights of Columbus hall, 2211 Shamrock Dr., San Jose, CA.

Young Ladies Institute

This organization of Catholic Women was established to help others through charitable projects promoting the work of the Church, while working hand in hand with other Catholic women. They meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Annex. The group supports each other through prayer, and helps sponsor an annual Burse for the support of Seminarians, the Layette Shower to help mothers with young babies, the Special Olympics, Hospice and other outreach
