Liturgical Environment

Ministry Purpose & Description

Established in 1999 to provide an atmosphere in the church that is conducive to worship. This includes planning, designing, fabricating, and installing liturgical works of art. In preparing for the liturgy we develop a deeper understanding of each liturgy and liturgical season as well as the correlation between the season and the environment and we come to appreciate God’s love for us.

We welcome new members who have one or more of the following gifts: Theatrical Set Design, Theatrical Lighting, Graphic Artists, Seamstresses, Floral designers, Master Craftsmen, or other artistry trades.

The planning meetings consist of reviewing the season and determining the direction of the upcoming season. The execution phase consists of designing, fabricating, and installing the liturgical works of art.

Meeting Frequency and Meeting Place

Planning team members have a 3-year commitment with seasonal meetings, but membership of the Execution team requires no formal commitment. Craftsmen are called as needed.

We have Formation Days in March & September.

We prepare the church to reflect the appropriate environment for the following holidays: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Pentecost, Ordinary Time.
