Preparation classes Our Catechist and Faith Formation volunteers have been reaching out to our registered families to say hi. If your son or daughter would like to participate in distance learning Sacramental Preparation classes (on-line) or would like to join a virtual youth group please be sure to contact us and sign the Virtual Consent Form (see below) so that they can join us. Our team is genuinely concerned for the well-being of your family and for the continuation of your child and teen’s spiritual faith. Please contact Patty Osorio for more information. St. Lucy Parish welcomes all children, youth, and adults, baptized or not, to participate in the faith formation ministry. St Lucy’s faith formation processes are in accordance with the catechetical standards of the Diocese of San Jose.
St. Lucy’s believes that the Faith Formation Ministry is a share in Jesus’ own mission of proclaiming the Reign of God. The faith formation enables the faith of a person to become living, conscious, and active through the light of instruction — especially sharing God’s Word in Scripture and sharing the tradition of the Catholic Church. The faith formation of a person is a life-long process for each individual as well as the work of the entire Catholic Christian community.
The Faith Formation of children, youth and adults is a process that seeks to open them in the discovery of the goodness and beauty of God as reflected in their world and help them to experience this world within the Catholic Christian community. It seeks to help them grow further in their faith, their understanding of our Catholic tradition, our unity in Christ and the many gifts of the Holy Spirit.
GOALS
The goals of the Faith Formation / Catechetical Ministry Program at St. Lucy’s are:
- Ongoing conversion to Jesus Christ
- Full participation in the life of the Catholic Church
