SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
The first step in the sacramental preparation process for new families is a meeting with the Director or a member of the catechetical staff. Children are prepared to celebrate First Communion and First Reconciliation (Confession) in second grade. Sessions are also available for older children. All parents are expected to assist in the sacramental preparation of their children and to attend the parent meetings for this purpose. Families will receive books Gifts of Reconciliation & Eucharist, (Silver Burdett) which are to be completed at home as a family preparation for the sacraments. We also have a morning of retreat specifically for these children prior to receiving First Communion.
CONFIRMATION is a two year program. Please contact Nancy Pontier at the parish office for more information.
CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF CHILDREN is a process for children above the age of 7 who are not yet baptized or who have been baptized in another Christian tradition. It requires full participation of the parents. Children who complete this process will receive the three sacraments of initiation, Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
INFANT BAPTISM: Baptism is celebrated upon completion of the Parent Baptism Preparation Program. Contact the Parish Office at 378-2464.
